PinkSlip Duo
Heartfelt Harmonies
"The Original Musical Lecturers"
Contact: Joan Friedenberg

A harmony-driven duo, the PinkSlip Duo distinguishes itself by unique arrangements and never using recorded tracks. PinkSlip can make use of guitars, keyboard, autoharp, harmonica, banjo, drum machine and various percussion instruments to create a rich full-band sound when needed for dancing. They devote hours devising clever and complex arrangements to make their two voices sound like more. But when covering Simon and Garfunkel, they maintain the simple, mellow sound of two folk singers and a guitar.
PinkSlip's repertoire contains Beatles, Peter Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, Dylan, Everly Brothers, Crosby Stills Nash and other 60's (late 50's - early 70's) close-harmony artists, in addition to having a limited selection of songs from the 80's- 2020's, songs in Spanish, and Jewish songs.

Bill Bowen (vocals, guitar, harmonica, banjo): A veteran performer in Palm Beach County and Florida Keys bars, with his solo acoustic versions of folk, classic rock, and Jimmy Buffett-style island music.
Joan Friedenberg (harmony arrangements, vocals, keyboard, guitar, autoharp): With over 30 years experience performing in bands and choirs, her unerring harmonies have graced area venues since she moved to South Florida in 2007. Joan's keyboard accompaniment and vocal harmonies include numbers in English, Spanish, French, Yiddish, Hebrew, and Ladino.
(Dr.) Joan, born in New York City, is a former linguistics professor and speaker on human rights issues. Bill, born in Atlanta, GA, is a former sportswriter and photojournalist. Both have moved on to their next careers, giving their former lives the pink slip.
PinkSlip is a pleasantly nostalgic musical journey through those halcyon days of the boomers' formative years.
